Lush Haul

Happy Easter!

I have days off work over Easter which I never usually get so I have been really relaxing this weekend. Spending most of it reading, watching old movies with my family and of course eating tons of chocolate.

I also thought I would have a pamper evening this weekend, and popped into Lush last week to pick up a bath bomb.. and ended up walking out the shop with a bag full of goodies that I thought I would show you :)

Brightside Bubble Bar: This smells so refreshing! It has such a strong tangy orange smell, and reminds me of those Calypo ice lollies. This bar is pretty big so I can see this lasting at least 4/5 baths. 

Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb: This has the same scent as the Lush Snow Fairy shower gel that they bring out at Christmas! I adore this fragrance, it smells like candy, sugary goodness.

Inhale Exhale Bath Bomb: This is one for when you want a very relaxing bath, The pink side smells like Neroli and Rose, and the Purple side smells more earthy and it contains Sandalwood oil and Black pepper oil. I can't wait to try this one!

Bunny Bubble Bar: This guy was too cute to not buy! I think it smells quite similar to the Snow fairy scent again, but also quite vanillary. This Bubble bar contains Coconut oil and Shea butter so will be really moisturising on the skin. 

Fun: I have used the Yellow and Green Fun before, and after smelling the Pink one I had to buy it . It smells like sweets! But not as sweet as Snow Fairy. It contains Tonka absolute, but I can smell a bit of Rose aswell. I love Fun because you can use it as soap, in the shower, as bubble bath and even shampoo (although I haven't tried this yet)

Bedroom Haul

Happy Sunday. Definitely my favourite day of the week… the day to relax.

I thought I would show you the result of my shopping trip yesterday. I had been thinking that my room looked a little boring recently. I decorated it last year but hadn't added any photo's or pictures to the walls, or really aded any little knick knacks to put my own stamp on things.

I hadn't been too fussed  about doing this as I was going to be moving out this year to my own flat, however things have changed now and this probably won't be happening till next year now.

So myself and my lovely mum took a drive to Dunelm Mill for the first time yesterday to pick up some bits.

 So here we go...

The 2 white cushions were £10.99 each. The Owl cushion is from Primark and was around £6

I also brought a string of Wicker heart lights from Primark for £6, but I need to get some hooks to hang them up. I feel like my bedroom is now a lot more homely.

Skincare Routine - Liz Earle

I thought I would do a little post about my current skincare routine. I have been using these products for almost a year now and they have done my skin wonders!
My skin used to be pretty bad… not in comparison to some people, but I used to feel very self conscious with my mild acne. My skin is so pale so any blemish or spot really showed up and my skin looked very red and angry, not attractive.

I must have spent an absolute fortune on skincare over the years, and products worked for a month or so, then the usual problems would flare up

Then a friend at work gave me a little sample tube of Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and a Muslin cloth  and after one use I fell in love with it and have been hooked ever since.

I have since gone through so many tubes of the stuff and also now use other products from the range every day.

L-R Instant Boost Skin Tonic, Cleanse and Polish, Skin Repair Light Moisturiser, Gentle Face Exfoliator

First up -  the Cleanse and Polish. I use this every night, how much makeup on depends on how much I squeeze out of the tube, but its normally about a 50p size amount. I apply this straight onto my dry face and neck, really massage it in - including around the eyes, this stuff does not sting!. I then soak the muslin cloth in hot water, wring out and massage the cleanser off. I then rinse my face with warm water and pat dry. This leaves your skin so super soft and gets rid of all your makeup. The only exception to this is if I have been wearing a lot of eye makeup, then I use a eye makeup remover afterwards to get rid of any remaining eyeliner. 

Next the Instant Boost Skin Tonic. I pour a small amount on a cotton pad and sweep around my face and neck, and this gets rid of any left over cleanser/makeup, not that there usually is any. This product is really calming with ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Cucumber and Calendula, and it smells amazing! I then leave my skin for about 5-10 minutes before applying my next product.

This is the Skin Repair Light Moisturiser. I only use 1 pump of this, which looks like a very small amount, but a little goes a long way. My skin is normal to oily, which is why I chose this particular moisturiser, but Liz Earle do various others to suit all skin types. This moisturiser smells almost the same as the tonic. It doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy and it sinks in super quick.

About twice a week I use the Gentle Face Exfoliator. I love this as I really feel like its helping to fade my slight scarring and any redness. It looks really similar to the Cleanse and Polish but has very tiny jojoba beads in. These are not harsh on the skin at all. This is one of the most gentle exfoliators I have used, but it still feels like it is effective. The more harsh exfoliators just make my skin flare up, so this is my go to product now.

This is my skincare routine at night. In the morning I don't tend to do much with my skin. I just wash my face with warm water and apply moisturiser, I feel like that is all it needs.

Saturday Shopping Haul

Hello there!

I thought I would start off my blog with a little haul post from today's shopping spree! I originally only wanted to pop into town quickly to pick up some earphones (of which I don't even buy!)

Instead I had a nice relaxing wander round and came home with a lot more then expected.

Firstly I went into Topshop. I am really loving Topshop at the moment, especially as the one near me does a good range of Petite sizes, and being only 5ft 1 and a half this is most important. 

I picked up 3 items here.

Checked Shirt - £30
This shirt is super soft and cosy. This isn't from the Petite range, but it is not too long,  I'm planning on wearing this with a long black vest top and thick black leggings.

Bird Necklace - £6.50
This necklace I loved as soon as I saw it. Its not too heavy and will look great with lots of outfits.

Cropped T-Shirt - £18I tried on this t-shirt with my high-waisted black jeans and it worked really well. The material is really soft and I think this will be worn alot through spring and summer!

I then went to Primark (I braved Primark on a Saturday afternoon! am i crazy?!) and picked up just a couple of items..

Frilly Socks - £1.50, Bee Socks - £1.50 for 3
I always end up buying socks in primark, I don't even need them. The frilly ones are almost the same as the Topshop ones but have silver glittery bits running through them which you can't really see from the photo, and the Bee socks were so cute they just fell into my basket.

Lastly I went to Boots where there was one of those great 3 for 2 on all makeup offers! I had had my eye on a couple of things for a while so thought 'why the hell not?'

I will be doing reviews of the makeup and the nail Polishes soon, and also a review of the Purple Shampoo, comparing it with others that I have tried! As I have dyed blonde hair I really like to try and keep it looking bright and keep any brassy tones away.
